The chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, Casey Wasserman, has expressed his deep regret over a series of flirtatious emails exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in trafficking young girls for the disgraced financier, Jeffrey Epstein.
The emails, dated back to 2003, were part of a large release of files made public by the US Department of Justice. In one of the email exchanges, Wasserman wrote to Maxwell, I think of you all the time... So what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit? This correspondence has surfaced amidst renewed scrutiny of individuals connected to Epstein.
In a statement to the press, Wasserman stated, I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light. He made it clear he has never had any personal or business ties to Epstein himself, stating, As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.
These revelations have not indicated wrongdoing on Wasserman's part, but they have cast a shadow on past associations with individuals linked to Epstein's legacy. Additionally, Wasserman's agency and connections, including a role as a trustee at the Clinton Foundation, have intensified media interest in his past.
Renewed focus on Epstein's network has led to discussions of Maxwell's forthcoming congressional testimony regarding her connections and knowledge related to Epstein's activities. The investigative committee has also summoned former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton for testimonies, amidst their documented relationships with Epstein.
The scrutiny continues as the fallout from the Epstein matter persists, with Wasserman's past communications now serving as a reminder of the complex entanglements resulting from these relationships.
