Trump’s First Year in Office Yields $1bn in Crypto Profits

According to the 2025 financial disclosure submitted by Donald Trump, he earned more than $1 billion (over £750 million) from cryptocurrency ventures during his first year back in office.

The report lists $635 million in royalties from a Trump meme coin launched just three days before Trump took the oath, showing the coin’s value has since plunged. It also reports $500 million in income from World Liberty Financial, a crypto‑firm founded by his sons and the son of special envoy Steve Witkoff.

Trump’s crypto earnings eclipsed his traditional real‑estate income: he earned $77 million from the Mar‑a‑Lago club and $122 million from his Doral, Florida golf club, with additional earnings above $30 million from other golf facilities worldwide. He also earned millions from other branded items such as watches, Bibles, guitars, and fragrances.

White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly dismissed the earnings as “legitimate” and asserted that the President’s business is placed in a trust managed by his sons, denying any conflict of interest. In contrast, critics view the disclosure as evidence of a conflict between presidential duties and personal gain.

The 927‑page document also shows Trump received more than $30 million in settlement payouts from lawsuits involving ABC, CBS, Meta, YouTube and X, claims which the White House says were directed toward a future presidential library and a nonprofit park‑maintenance fund.
