The company disclosed that its servers were hacked in August, leading to unauthorized access of 2,606 data items containing the personal information of current, former, and contract employees. While Game Freak has not commented on other leaked details potentially revealing unannounced projects, it expressed regret for the breach's impact and has committed to contacting affected individuals. The company is also taking steps to bolster its digital security measures. Game Freak collaborates closely with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, managing the world-renowned Pokémon franchise and is presently working on the new Pokémon Legends: Z-A, slated for release in the following year. Additionally, legal actions have been initiated by Nintendo against the makers of Palword in Japan concerning alleged patent infringements linked to Pokémon.
